The Science of Fun
Laughter or just simply smiling decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies, thus improving our resistance to disease. Smiling and laughing trigger the release of endorphins, which are the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. Endorphins promote an overall sense of well-being and can even temporarily relieve pain.
By seeking out more opportunities for smiling and laughing, we can improve our emotional health, strengthen our relationships, find greater happiness and even add years to our life.
That expression “Put on a happy face” is true. Our office is designed to put on that happy face. From the moment your child enters our office through the “hobbit door”, there will be fun games, a train, animal sculptures and a jungle themed interior; all meant to put a smile on your child’s face and reduce the stress normally associated with going to the dentist. Even at the chair-side, the doctors and staff incorporate magic, animation, puppets and humor to ease your child’s tension and put her in a happy state.
We realize that occasionally certain dental procedures may cause some discomfort, but every effort will be made to reduce any anxiety so your child will leave the office with a smile on his face.
WHAT IS M.I.D.?
M.I.D. stands for: minimally invasive dentistry. It is based on advances in science that seeks out ways to treat your child’s cavities less aggressively, less painfully and with minimal trauma. That means in many cases with less tooth drilling, fewer injections, fewer extractions, and fewer dental pulp treatments. We will never compromise your child’s oral health and we will make every effort for our dental treatments to be simpler, kinder and minimally invasive.
