• Scheduling
    • We strive to offer each patient and family optimal availability in regards to scheduling and appointment times. Our office does our best to be here on major school holidays, weekend appointments and later appointments after school.
    • First visits and children under 5 years of age are typically exhausted after a long day of day care or preschool, and not as interested in sitting still in the afternoon. We do our best to reserve the morning hours for these visits and reserve the afternoon for older adolescents.
    • Some procedures need to be scheduled in the morning hours especially those that are more involved or require more intricate attention from the doctors. We are scheduling appropriately to ensure the best care for you child.
  • Insurance policies
    • No dental insurance pays 100% of procedures!
      • Our office does our best to explain this to patients- however it is a large misconception set forth by insurance policies and employers. Typically insurances cover between 50-80% of the average total fee. Most insurance companies underpay the usual, customary or reasonable fee (“UCR”) because they determine their own pay schedules.
      • Insurance is a contract between the subscriber, the employer and the insurance company- not our office. We do our best to work with you to maximize your benefits and explain to you the benefits you have.
      • Please keep in mind insurances do not think of the patient the way we do and we may suggest more frequent visits or procedures that are not covered by your insurance.
    • Late arrivals
      • We understand that at times, being in New York City- traffic and train delays happen. All we ask is that you try your best to give the office a call if running late. We do call five minutes into the appointment if the patient has not yet arrived. We expect that you respect the allotted time slot especially during prime time appointments and are understanding.
        • Our office reserves the right to ask you to reschedule your appointment if you are late by 15 minutes or more. Certain days we can do our best to accommodate you if possible- but please take into consideration the office’s standards.
        • Broken or canceled appointments: our office reserves the right to charge the family $75 for each appointment that is canceled or broken without 24 hours’ notice.
          • If the patient has missed 2 or more appointments without notice our office reserves the right to terminate any and all future dental care visits.
        • We like to ensure positive experiences for all children and their families, enforcing these rules helps our office accommodate and run effectively.
